New York (CNN Business)The US economy added 1.8 million jobs last month, as the recovery from the Covid-19 recession continues.
It was the third-straight month of improvement after the spring lockdown to stem the spread of the disease decimated the labor market.
With the jobs added in July, America is still down 12.9 million jobs since before the pandemic.
The unemployment rate fell to 10.2%, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday, but remains above the Great Recession high of 10% that is reached in October 2009.
